  • Long living but must be protected from wildlife when young – 150 years old!

 

  • Peeling bronze bark with a large canopy of bright yellow leaves in fall

 

  • This is a single trunk birch

 

  • 75’ H x 30’ canopy; slow growing

 

  • Prefers moist well-draining soils –sand based loam is perfect

 

  • Full sun to partial shade; sun important when young to get tree up and growing
