Serviceberry – Native Running

Species: Amelanchier stolonifera
  • A deciduous, early-flowering shrub which typically suckers and spreads to form thickets

 

  • NATIVE to Michigan

 

  • 5’ H x 5’ W -smaller than other Serviceberry Shrubs

 

  • Full Sun to Partial Shade

 

  • Average well-draining soils; tolerant of many different soils

 

  • Great for woodland, naturalized or native plant gardens. Also effective along stream banks and ponds.

 

  • Edible berries about the size of Blueberries. Loved by all birds and Animals

 

  • Protect from Deer when young
