- An interesting oddity for unusual perennial beds. Grayish green spiny leaves from which spring its very tall flower spikes in July and August.
- Booms are a pale silvery blue and look somewhat like round thistles
- NATIVE Plant to Michigan – sought after by butterflies and bees in late July/August
- Dry to medium sandy soils in full sun. Has a deep tap root so don’t disturb after planting
