Whenever I sell evergreens to a customer, I recommend deep watering them going into winter – especially when we have a dry fall. These are the exact conditions I’m describing! I know your hoses are put away and the irrigation system is drained. Grab a 5 gallon bucket and give them a good drink. Really, it’s a good idea for all your shrubs. The rain we’ve had this fall has been sporadic and very light. Your evergreens will thank you in the spring with no or reduced browning and/or needle die back.
