Species: Lobelia cardinalis
  • Here’s a very hardy native perennial for that woodland location –great border!

 

  • Bright Red flower spikes on top of upright clumping dark green foliage; flowers late summer early fall

 

  • Prefers partial shade with woodland conditions with rich, moist well-draining soil; 30” H x 24” W

 

  • Absolute hummingbird magnet with bright red flowers, also attractive to bees and birds for seed

 

  • Deer and rabbit resistant – not first choice; trim back in early spring
